Biography
With a resume that ranges from insurance marketing to project and Emiratization management as well as coaching and mentoring, this Seattle born Emirati is not short on talent. She has studied psychology and research ethics in Oregon at the prestigious Willamette University. More recently she has graduated magna cum laude with a BA in Early Childhood Studies from Middlesex University with an MA EDU: Coaching and Mentoring a few months away, all while having three premature babies back to back. A PhD from Washington State University and International Coaching Federation (ICF) credentials are also on the horizon. She has worked for AIG, AXA and MetLife in the Gulf region and currently takes on projects in the education and Emiratization sectors.
Her passion lies in education reform as well as helping adults and children find what works for them throughout their learning journey- whether it be in the workplace or the classroom or just life in general. She is a coach to mothers trying to find that work (or school!) life balance and is currently climbing the ladder to be one of the nation’s leading specialists in Emiratization. She embraces change and helps individuals and corporations get the ‘buy in’ they need from stakeholders to progressively move forward and reach their goals. Her passion for research and writing has led the way to some very relevant findings on both the Emiratization and parental front (“Parental reliance on handheld devices on children aged 0-5 years in Dubai, 2017”; and current work: “Exploring the Attitudes and Practices of Recruitment in Emiratization”). She has numerous papers currently being reviewed for publishing and is asked to speak and compete scholastically. Worldly and well traveled, she takes pride in meeting with other academics around the globe on minority critical theory and best practices in academia and organizational behavior.
Being an Emirati American she has witnessed and experienced the concept of Emiratization from both sides of the coin and is pioneering the way to instill some long lasting, healthy changes beneficial to all. An avid educationalist and researcher, Aliah is a dynamic, cutting edge game changer; unafraid of taking risks to better work culture and bridge the gaps between minorities and the workplace.
